Prepare fertile, loose and well-drained soil. Start seeds in seed starter one month before transplanting. Transplant bottle gourd seedlings in garden in spring/early summer when temperature is warmer than 55 degree in sunny place. Plant distance is better more than 2 ft. Bottle gourd requires a long, warm growing season. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Train the vines onto strong trellis and prune as needed. Bottle gourd flowers in the evening before sunset. Manual pollination will help fruiting. Harvest fruit when young and tender.
